A polished pebble that is composed of this banded stromatolite-like fossil sponge. The banding has been found to be seasonal growth bands and the pink colour is natural and caused by the presence of the mineral Boron. Fantastic well detailed example. Comes in a display box and with a species/locality label. Found:- White Limestone Formation, Bathonian, Middle Jurassic, Foss Cross, Cedworth, Nr. Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England. Age:- 160 Million Years Old. Overall Rock Size = 7.6 cm (3 inches) wide by 5.1 cm (2 inches) high.
