British Polished Beach Pebble Containing a Middle Lias, Lower Jurassic Brittlestar (Starfish) from Eype, Nr. Lyme Regis, Dorset, England. Ex-Blessed Collection. (SKU OF0176):- Palaeocoma egertoni

I personally found this beach pebble many years ago. I found it by standing on it the water on the sole of my boots wetted the stone so i could see the starfish on the surface. I have had the pebbled polished as it was not good enough to mechanically prepare but it showed some fabulous detail with all the five arms being present and mouth parts visible. It has sat in my collection until today. The pebble also has the remains of a smaller example on the back and the remains of broken crinoid stems. Comes with a display stand and a species/locality label. Found:- The Starfish Beds, The Bridport Sands, Margaritatus Zone, Middle Lias, Lower Jurassic, Eypesmouth Beach, Eype, Bridport, Nr. Lyme Regis, Dorset, England. Age:- 190 Million Years Old. Size of Starfish = 6.4 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. Overall Beach Pebble Size = 8.3 cm (3.25 inches) wide by 12 cm (4.75 inches) high.
